The 45th Annual Tool Show and Auction is now set for March 15, 2025!

March 15

The 2025 Tool Show and Auction date has been announced for the weekend of March 14 and 15th 2025!

As always setup and early entry will be Friday, March 14th with the actual show and auction to commence Saturday, March 15th.

The Dealer Tool Sale and Auction will be held rain or shine, wind or snow and is open with free admission to the general public.  It consists of tailgating (Friday and Saturday outside), a dealer tool sale (inside Hall) and a tool auction (Saturday inside Hall). The vendors/dealers for the tool show set up in the first two thirds of the building and the auction in the last 1/3. The lots are open for inspection all day. The lots usually feature antique tools, planes, chisels and the like but can also have user tools, antiques, collectables, signs and even some scientific-type pieces.  PATINA club members, vendors and general public attendees all bid on lots they desire.

At the 2024 event, there were 37 vendors set up selling their wares, answering questions and helping to create a joyful event.  There were many more vendors set up in the outside tailgating section as well. Plan to attend the largest tool event in the country. If the weather cooperates, tailgaters, dealers and auction tables cover a half mile of tools! Tailgate setup is free for sellers, but a nominal ($10-15) donation to the club to help cover facility costs is appreciated. Several tailgaters arrive Friday, the majority arrive during the early morning on Saturday.

For vendors wishing to sell their tools, it seems that with the unusually cold winter and increased snow levels, several outdoor sellers are choosing to come inside to the hall.  The INDOOR Vendor selling area continues to fill up fast.

INDOOR table selling also allows early access to other inside sellers and their goods on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning before the Hall opens.

There is still space at this point, however sellers considering the move INSIDE the hall should make reservations soon.  Please see the attachments below and reach out to Dave Murphy at murphydave1898@gmail.com. if interested.

For those interested in bidding in our auction, lots are open for inspection all day. The lots usually feature antique tools, planes, chisels and the like but can also have user tools, antiques, collectables, signs and even some scientific-type pieces.  PATINA club members, vendors and general public attendees all bid on lots they desire.  For this years auction, we have received approximately 300 quality lots and are now at capacity; we have stopped accepting new auction consignments.  This 2025 auction is shaping up to be the best we’ve had in a number of years.

Some of the items to be auctioned include multiple Stanley 113 compass planes; multiple Stanley 45’s with cutters; a Sargent 1080 with cutters; Stanley A6; Stanley Bedrock 604, 605 & 606;  multiple Stanley 66 hand beaders; Stanley 55 with cutters; multiple planes made by Lie-Nielsen.

This year, we will be holding the auction one hour earlier than previous years.  We will start the auction activities at 1pm.

As always at our PATINA tool shows and auctions, you do not need to be a club member to bid on any auction items and there is never a buyers premium.   The auction is completely live; there is no on-line or phone bidding.

High quality Consignments for 2025 came in at a steady pace: we have some really nice items for this auction.  This week it was decided that we had received as many as we felt we could handle in a reasonable time-oriented basis so as of February 22 we have decided to suspend accepting any new lots for the auction.

We are thankful to the PATINA members and families as well as other parties who have donated or submitted items for sale at auction so far.

With our fee only 15%, PATINA continues to be a great and inexpensive way to consign tools to users and collectors
